The Library Commission’s Resource Library Catalog provides online access to the Primary Resource Collection. This collection is developed to serve as the primary support for Mississippi public libraries and to meet the information needs of Mississippi state government. This collection includes reference, non-fiction, audiovisual, periodical, Mississippiana, large print, and specialized resources. The online catalog is accessible to anyone with an Internet connection. Registered libraries may request specific materials using the hold feature. Registered state employees may login and request specific materials using the hold feature and may also search and place requests for materials found in the Mississippi Virtual Union Catalog.
The Statewide Virtual Union Catalog and Interlibrary Loan (VUC/ILL) system provides a single point of access to participating Mississippi public library catalogs. State employees registered with the Mississippi Library Commission should access the VUC by logging into the Commission’s Resource Library Catalog to search and place requests on the VUC.
The Talking Book Services (TBS) catalog provides online access to digital and physical Braille books as well as digital audio books contained in the TBS specialized collection. Links for downloadable materials within BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download) are specified in each catalog record, if applicable. This online catalog is accessible to anyone with an Internet connection; however, loan of materials is limited to those meeting specific federal eligibility criteria for individuals with visual impairments, physical limitations and reading disabilities.
MAGNOLIA is a collection of online full-text resources funded by the Mississippi Legislature for access through any publicly funded library. Select resources are also accessible from the home or office with a password which can be obtained from the individual’s local publicly funded library.
